Our first important musical experiences reach us in the womb. A baby may not have opened its eyes for the first time but it already reacts instinctively to music. The influences which music exerts upon us form an indispensable element of our emotional development and understanding of the world.
You cannot start listening to music early enough. The editors of this programme have decided to launch an event that allows children up to twelve months old to experience live classical music with their parents within the walls of the Palace of Arts. The tiny tots hear the specially selected music while held in their parent’s laps, but if they want, they can also crawl on the carpet placed before the stage. A pram park and nappy changing facilities are laid on for the comfort of visiting families.
