Exploratorium, San Francisco

The Exploratorium is one of the top museums in San Francisco and provides a good form of creative and innovative entertainment.  The Exploratorium is a science and art museum that focuses on human perception.  All in all, this is a very attractive venue when in San Francisco.  Located in San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts, the Exploratorium is a collection of a variety of different interactive exhibits.

A particularly attractive feature of the Exploratorium is the Tactile Dome that enables visitors to enter a special area, rather like a maze, that is completely dark and requires the use of the senses of feel and touch in order to find one's way around.  It should be noted that there is an additional fee for entrance to this fun part of the museum and also that it is not really suitable for anyone suffering from claustrophobia. 

At the Exploratorium, visitors may learn about bubbles, electricity and all kinds of experiments, combining a form of education and amusement under the same entertaining roof.  The Exploratorium is open from Tuesday through Sunday and it should be noted that on the first Wednesday of each month, admission to the museum is free.

The Exploratorium produces an exciting interactive experience which is suitable for all ages, although some particular exhibits such as the Tactile Dome may not be appropriate for very young children. It is interesting to note that out of the approximate 600,000 annual visitors to the Exploratorium, 48% are children, while the remaining 52% are adults.  From these figures, it can be assumed that this museum is certainly not just for children and that adults can also enjoy a fun learning experience at this site.
